Terms and rules

LoopTree runs on trust: people share loops so others can build on them. These are the few things everyone agrees to by using it.

Your loops

What you upload stays yours. By uploading it to a session, you let LoopTree store it and play it to the people who can see that session, and you let the session's members download it and build their own versions on top, which is what sessions are for.

Every loop keeps its credits: the people in its lineage and a fingerprint of the exact file, with the date it was uploaded.

The session rules

Everyone agrees to these before entering a session:

  1. Credit everyone. If you use or release any version from this session, credit everyone in its lineage. The Credits list on every loop shows them.
  2. Talk before you release. Before releasing a version outside LoopTree, tell the people in its lineage. The session chat is there for that.
  3. Only upload what you made, or what you have the right to use. Mark any samples you didn't make when you upload.
  4. Build, don't copy. Add something of your own to the loop you branch from.
  5. Be respectful. The owner can remove anyone who breaks these rules.

Not allowed anywhere

  • Audio you don't have the right to use, passed off as your own.
  • Harassment, hate, threats, or targeting someone.
  • Spam: junk uploads, repeated sessions, ads, link dumps.
  • Pretending to be someone else.
  • Sexual content involving minors, or anything illegal.

What happens if someone breaks them

Anyone can report a loop, comment, chat message, session or profile. Session owners see reports about their session and can hide loops, delete messages and remove members. LoopTree handles reports about sessions and profiles, and can take a session down or suspend an account. A suspended account can still log in and listen, but can't post.

Copyright and getting in touch

If something on LoopTree uses your work without permission, report it with the reason “Uses audio they don't own”, or write to [email protected]. Include the link, what the original work is, and how to reach you. The same goes for appeals: if your session was taken down or your account suspended and you think it's a mistake , use feedback or write to [email protected]. Bugs and ideas for LoopTree go there too.

Keeping LoopTree free

LoopTree is free, has no ads and is built by one producer. If it's useful to you, you can help keep it running (a support link is coming soon). Supporting is entirely optional and doesn't change what you can do here.
